First pour a little white vinegar and water into the kettle. Turn on the kettle and boil it twice. The main components of the residue in a hot water kettle are carbonates such as calcium carbonate, and white vinegar contains acetic acid that can react with them to produce water-soluble substances and carbon dioxide.
The reason you have to boil after pouring in white vinegar is because white vinegar has the ability to remove residue stronger and faster in high temperature environments.
Then pour out the boiled white vinegar water.
If there is still residue inside the kettle, it means the kettle has not been cleaned. At this point, you can add a little baking soda.
Next, utilize a scouring pad to wipe away the residue at the bottom of the kettle, making the removal process easier. Since the bottom of the hot water kettle is still warm at this point, pouring baking soda in for descaling will be more rapid and effective.
Finally, pour in some water and shake to remove any remaining stains in the kettle. A kettle cleaned in this way is not only clean but also has no traces of dirt inside and is as clean as new.
