“You’re gorgeous!” Myron told Hilary just minutes after meeting her at a gathering for the first time.
It had been a long time since a man had complimented her, and she couldn’t remember how it felt when he held her hand and looked into her eyes.
Myron stayed by her side throughout the evening, cracking jokes and telling her everything about himself.
Their conversation only brought them closer, prompting Myron to ask her out the next day.
“Hilary, I think you are the girl I have been looking for all this time,” Myron said. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
“Yes!” she exclaimed and wrapped her arms around him. “I’ll be your girlfriend, Myron.”
However, when Hilary told her parents about it, they began to have doubts.
He told them that he lost his parents at an early age and misses them a lot.
Hilary was relieved when her parents approved her lover.
The couple dated for five months before Myron took the next step. He took Hilary to an upscale restaurant on a date and knelt in front of everyone.
Myron said. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes!” Hilary said as she grabbed his hands and pulled him up, putting her arms around him as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Her parents thought it was weird for Myron to propose to her so soon, but their worries were dispelled when they spoke with him and saw how much he admired their daughter.
During one of the debates, she realized that Myron was interested in the material aspect of things.
“I’m so excited about all the stuff people will bring us!” he said, his eyes sparkling with greed.
“There’s going to be a lot of expensive gifts. I can’t wait!”
A few days before the wedding, Myron dropped by Hilary’s house and told her something she didn’t expect. “I think we should have a prenuptial agreement. What do you suggest?”
Myron exclaimed. “I think we should add a clause that states that if you initiate a divorce, you would have to pay up a fortune!” he chuckled coldly.
Later that day, Hilary called her lawyer and inquired about the clause. She believed Myron was selfish, but the lawyer informed her that this clause was usual.
She contacted and informed him that she was ready to sign the prenuptial agreement.
However, another weird experience led her to distrust his intentions.
A few days later, Hilary was cleaning Myron’s cupboards when she came across a divorce certificate bearing Myron’s name.
“Listen to me,” he held her shoulders and made her sit on the bed. “This marriage was a mistake. I was young and impulsive when I married this woman. It’s in the past now and means nothing to me!”
Myron once again dispelled Hilary’s doubts with his magical words. He convinced her that he was not holding any secrets, but the fact was otherwise.
A day before the wedding, Myron was on the phone with someone at Hilary’s apartment.
“If you mess it up, I won’t be able to vouch for myself!” he whispered, unaware that Hilary overheard him.
“That was my ex-girlfriend,” Myron rolled her eyes. “She was threatening to show up at the wedding.”
Myron had deceived her once more, but Hilary’s heart grew restless with each twinge of doubt and mistrust.
Hilary awoke early on her wedding day and began getting dressed. She was delighted to marry the guy of her dreams, but she had no idea what to expect inside the chapel.
She walked down the aisle, holding her father’s hand, and everyone gazed at her. Once she arrived at the altar, the priest began reading the wedding vows. Then he asked the guests whether anyone opposed the marriage.
“I am against this marriage!” an unknown man shouted while walking down the aisle.
“I can’t allow Myron to marry this innocent girl.”
Suddenly, a team of police officers barged into the church while Myron sought to flee.
“The police arrested Myron because he was accused of repeated fraud.”
“I’m Myron’s estranged father,” the man said. “You can call me Mr. Brown.”
“He cut ties with me when I discovered he was a professional gigolo and was looting girls by marrying them for money.”
Hilary began to understand what Myron had been doing over the past several months. She finally realized why he had been acting strangely.
Myron’s case was soon brought to court, and the judge ordered him to reimburse every woman he had defrauded.
