Fenugreek and hibiscus are two of the most commonly used Ayurvedic ingredients to promote healthy hair. They have been used for ages to feed the scalp, promote hair development, thicken hair, and enhance overall hair health. Today, I’m pleased to present two wonderful DIY recipes that use these incredible herbs!
DIY #1: The Black Serum
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp Cloves
- 2 Dried Hibiscus Flowers
- 1 Tbsp Kalonji (Nigella Seeds)
- 1 Tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 2 Tbsp Rosemary
- 7-8 Curry Leaves
- 1 Glass of Water
Instructions:
1. Combine all of the ingredients in an iron pot.
2. Add 1Â glass of water.
3. Boil for 5-7 minutes.
4. Let it cool fully.
5. Strain the mixture.
6. Store in a spray bottle.
Usage:
Use the serum overnight before shampooing your hair.
For the best results, use 3-4 times each week.
DIY #2: The Hair Mask
Ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp Fenugreek Seeds
- A handful of Hibiscus Flowers
- 1/2 Cup Buttermilk
Instructions:
1. Soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
2. In the morning, combine the soaking seeds and hibiscus blossoms to form a fine paste.
3. Add buttermilk to the paste and process again until smooth.
4. Apply the mask to your scalp and let it on for one hour.
5. Remove it with a gentle shampoo.
