A man walked into a dental clinic to ask about the price of a tooth extraction.
“It’s $100,” the dentist replied.
“Oof, that’s way too expensive,” the man groaned. “Do you have any cheaper options?”
“Well,” the dentist shrugged, “if we completely skip the anesthetic, I can drop it to $75.”
“Still too high. What if we use a trainee and no anesthetic?”
“That would be incredibly painful,” the dentist warned, “but it would bring the price down to $35.”
The man thought for a moment. “What if you turn it into a live classroom demonstration? A student does the pulling, and the rest of the class watches.”
The dentist sighed. “That would be highly traumatic for the patient… but it would be excellent practice for the school. I suppose I could do that for just $5.”
“Brilliant!” the man smiled, rubbing his hands together.
“Book my wife in for tomorrow morning.”
