Today I got a call from a very polite man claiming to be from Microsoft.
He said, “Sir, we’ve detected a serious problem with your computer. It could put your data and online banking at risk, but I can fix it for you.”
I replied, “That’s concerning… but I don’t actually own a computer.”
After a brief pause, he asked, “Then it must be your laptop?”
“Don’t have one.”
“A tablet? An iPad?”
“Nope.”
Another long silence.
Then I said, “Actually… I don’t even have a telephone.”
He finally snapped,
“Sir… now you’re lying to me!”
I smiled and replied,
“Well… you started it!” 😂
