A man was walking along the beach, deep in prayer, when he suddenly looked up and said,
“Lord, I have just one wish.”
A booming voice came from the heavens.
“Because you have been faithful, I will grant you one wish.”
The man smiled.
“Please build me a bridge from here to Hawaii. I want to drive there whenever I feel like it!”
There was a long pause.
The Lord finally replied,
“That’s a rather big request. Do you realize how much engineering, steel, concrete, and construction would be needed to build a bridge across thousands of miles of ocean?”
The man thought about it.
“Hmm… when you put it that way, maybe I should ask for something simpler.”
“Excellent,” said the Lord.
The man took a deep breath.
“I want to understand women. I want to know what they’re thinking, what they really mean when they say ‘nothing,’ why they change their minds, and most importantly… how to make them happy.”
Silence.
A very long silence.
Finally, the Lord spoke.
“So… about that bridge.”
The man smiled.
“Yes?”
“Do you want two lanes or four?”
