Rosemary is among the most used aromatic herbs in the kitchen, but not everyone knows how it can have so many other uses thanks to its branches. Here are the ones.
We all know this aromatic herb and how much it can make a difference when used on our dishes, thanks to its unmistakable scent and the taste it can give to foods. Rosemary, however, is not only a great ally in the kitchen, but can prove useful in many other fields , thanks to the extreme versatility it enjoys. In addition, many also place its plants on the balcony as they are very pretty to look at and have beautiful violet flowers.
Apart from providing valid support to our cuisine, the typical rosemary needles and branches can be used in many other ways, as a basic ingredient for excellent and natural beauty remedies and good healthy infusions. In fact, this aromatic herb is famous for having many virtues, and acts as a natural antiseptic, calming cough and also a good help in cases of poor digestion.
In short, while there are many uses, not everyone knows them. We illustrate some of them below, simple to follow or implement, without spending a lot of money and capable of solving some common problems in a natural and immediate way.
Rosemary branches: use them like this and you will see the result
For instance, with just 10 branches of rosemary we can create an excellent foot bath capable of helping tired feet and at the same time providing relief in case of varicose veins.
Put the branches inside a pan with 1 liter of water, letting them simmer for at least 20 minutes. Once the heat is turned off, in a basin we will put 3 liters of warm water, 100 ml of apple cider vinegar , a glass of coarse salt and of course our decoction, including the branches. 30 minutes of this treatment and our feet will be like new!
Are we left without anti-aging cream ? No problem, rosemary comes to the rescue in this case too.Â
Prepare a decoction by placing 4 or 5 sprigs of rosemary in a saucepan with a cup of water, boiling for about twenty minutes. In the meantime, in a bowl, mix two teaspoons of oat or rice flour with one of honey, then pour in the filtered decoction. We will have created a mask to apply for 15 minutes on the face. The skin will be regenerated.
Other cosmetics to make with this aromatic herb
Still keeping our rosemary decoction as a base, we can then create a tonic to apply once a day to the face, to make it brighter and smoother. Just add food alcohol to our infusion, just 50 ml, mixing well.
And if we find ourselves unable to go to the hairdresser, we can cover gray hair by preparing a do-it-yourself lotion. We will only need half a cup of rosemary needles and half of sage, as well as 450 ml of water.
After chopping the two herbs, put them in the saucepan and boil for at least 30 minutes, then let them rest for 3 hours. Once filtered, we can use it on the hair, repeating the operation at least 15 times, recovering the liquid by placing a basin underneath, and leaving it on for 10 minutes before finally rinsing.
