Annie Potts of Designing Women fame has been hospitalized, according to a social media update from the 71-year-old.
According to sources, on August 22, the actress uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram, posing next to a nurse.
She captioned the photo, “Nurse Gabby took such wonderful care of me after my knee replacement. God always sends an angel when you need them most.❤️”
Potts was seen wearing a hospital gown and blue-framed spectacles, with a tube in her nose, giving off an alarming impression.
However, any fear was dispelled by the smiles she and the nurse gave, and fans of the Young Sheldon actress were quick to send their best wishes her way.
Potts’ recent knee replacement is far from the first sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ she has ever undergone. In 2022, the actress disclosed that she was involved in a car ᴀᴄᴄɪᴅᴇɴᴛ when she was 21, fracturing nearly every bone in her body below the waist after being hit by a drunk driver.

She also said that she needed an ankle replacement after Young Sheldon ended, telling Glamour, “I’ll do that as soon as the show wraps season five, because I’m going to need all of the hiatus to get my function back.”
Potts told PEOPLE earlier this year that her appearance in Young Sheldon could be her “last rodeo”.
She stated that the CBS sitcom would be ending after seven seasons.
“I mean, I love the cast. Wonderful character to play. But hey, I’m old, this could be my last rodeo. I mean, I thought about that though, panicked me a little bit. These things are hard to come by, I’ve had a couple, but they were all tough, so yeah.”
Her recent knee replacement operation elicited pity and well wishes from her followers, who raced to her social media post to offer their support.
“Pr:ayers for your recovery […] ??,” wrote one person on Instagram.
“вlєssíngs for a speedy recovery,” penned another.
Sending strength to Annie Potts at this time!
