DIY HEAVY DUTY CLEANER FOR EVERY SURFACE

One wonderful thing about going through this lockdown is that it compels me to do things I wouldn’t typically do. Like cleaning my floors. Alright, I do clean my floors, but not as regularly as I should. I just HATE doing it, not terrible, but not great either, to such an extent! At least now, I have a heavy-duty floor cleaner that makes it less of a chore.

The kitchen really isn’t so bad. I love my wood laminate floors because most of the time, a damp paper towel will do the trick. But the bathrooms? Well, that’s a different story.

I live in a house filled with guys. Anyone with boys understands what that “boy bathroom smell” is like. I swear, it’s in the walls. I can wipe down every surface in there, scrub the floor on my hands and knees, and it’s still there, wafting through the house like an Oscar the Grouch version of a Glade air freshener. But this floor cleaner just might be my salvation.

This recipe from Food.com is for heavy-duty cleaning like in a commercial kitchen. It’s designed to be a grease cutter. And it worked great on my kitchen floor. But what drew me to the pin was the comment in the description that said, “smells amazing.”

The problem with using ammonia-based cleaners like Pine-Sol in the bathroom is that it only seems to make the urine smell worse. And why use expensive and harsh chemicals when you don’t have to? Honestly, my bathroom smells great, and the floors look clean. At least for the next 12 seconds.

Heavy Floor Cleaner:

…. 1/4 cup white vinegar
…. 1 teaspoon liquid dish cleanser (blue Dawn is a supernatural occurrence in a jug I wouldn’t utilize whatever else!)
…. 1/4 cup washing soda (this can be found in the clothing walkway of the market)
…. 2 gallons faucet water, very warm water
…. Put all the fixings into a basin and blend well until sudsy.

Mop the zone with the solution. Rinsing isn’t required, yet cleaning down with a towel a short time later gives a decent perfect completion
Not suggested for waxed floors–it might make the wax gunky.
