Kevin Costner was arguably one of Hollywood’s hottest guys, but after years of filming in the scorching sun, the aging cowboy is beginning to resemble a “toad.”
A doctor thinks the star’s “blotchy skin” is a warning sign of ca::ncer, and that if he doesn’t take additional precautions, “he’ll be sorry.”
Since 2017, Kevin Costner has produced and acted in Yellowstone, a television series about tensions between ranching families in Yellowstone National Park.
The 69-year-old cowpoke, who plays the patriarch of the Dutton family in the show, spends a lot of time riding on horseback under the blazing sun in the fictional Broken Rock Indian Reservation.
However, in June 2024, the recently divorced actor stated that he was leaving the ranch to play an Arizona homesteader in 2024’s Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1, a box office bomb in which he acts and produces.
“After a year and a half of working on Horizon and thinking about Yellowstone, I realized that I won’t be able to continue,” the Wyatt Earp star tells followers on social media. “It was something that profoundly impacted me. I enjoyed it, and I know you did too. And I just wanted to let you know that I will not be returning.
Fans responded to his news with disappointment in the comments area of his social media posts, with some wishing him well and others stating he seemed “worn out.”
One person writes, “John Dutton was the GOAT; an absolute legend. “It will not be the same without you.” And a second writes, “I am so heartbroken over this.”
A third observes that he appears exhausted and states, “The show definitely won’t be the same without you. “You’re still very attractive, but you appear tired and older.”
That fan isn’t the only one who has observed that the Dancing with Wolves star is looking a little older.
‘A toad has better skin’
An insider warns that the star could be in for a health crisis if he isn’t more careful when it comes to filming under the sun.
The source tells a news outlet that Costner’s “face is spotty from all the suntanning and probably sunburning he’s been through.”
Showing ‘damage’
Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who does not treat Costner, agreed and stated that the Field of Dreams star is already displaying “damage”.
Mirkin advises Costner “to see a dermatologist yearly and have each successive basal cell removed before it spreads.”
Basal cell carcinoma is the “most common type of ca:ncer, “According to the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD). The organization says that people with “a lighter skin tone” who seldom protect the “skin from the sun” or use tanning beds, are at “a greater risk of developing” skin ca::ncers.
