Donald Trump was asked directly about his thoughts following the release of two sets of images relating to Epstein on Friday
The US President has broken his silence following the release of unseen photos from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein on Friday.
Two batches of photos have been released so far by the estate of the disgraced financier, many of which feature various celebrities and famous faces, including Trump, former president Bill Clinton, and Virgin founder Richard Branson, to name but a few.
The images were released by Democrats from the House Oversight Committee ahead of next week’s deadline, in which the Department of Justice must release the entirety of the Epstein files.
Just hours after the sh0cking images were shared with the world, Trump was questioned in the Oval Office about the photos and gave a brief but succinct answer to his thoughts surrounding them.
“He has photos with everybody,” Trump said, while being seemingly unbothered by the revelations. “Hundreds and hundreds of people have photos with him, that’s no big deal, I know nothing about it.”
For months now, Trump has repeatedly denied any involvement with Epstein and often swerved questions when quizzed by the press in the daily White House press briefings.
He did, however, promise to release the Epstein files in full during his 2024 election campaign, a vow he has seemingly adhered to following a vote by Congress to do so.
Since the start of the year, the Department of Justice has been cryptically vague about what the files contained, with initial claims stating that more information would follow.
Yet, the DOJ later u-turned on this and announced that no details would be released to the public, however, this too has since been revoked.
Congress almost unanimously voted to release the files last month, with just one member of the House voting against the motion.
After that, Trump signed the bill into law, with the documents now due to be released next week (albeit in a redacted form).
Though Trump has been photographed with Epstein, he has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing and has not been accused of any crime or investigated in connection with Epstein’s activities.
Being pictured with Epstein also does not imply wrongdoing on Trump’s part.
