Donald Trump’s former golf caddy has reportedly made a stunning claim about the ex-President’s behavior on the golf course, adding to the long-running suspicions that Trump cheats while playing.
Trump’s Passion for Golf — And the Controversy Around It
At 78 years old, Trump is a well-known golf enthusiast. He owns 16 golf courses worldwide, including 12 within the United States. Even while managing the responsibilities of the presidency, such as implementing controversial trade tariffs, reports indicated that Trump spent 18 of his first 69 days in his second term at one of his golf resorts. The cost of these golf trips to U.S. taxpayers was said to exceed $26 million.

Repeated Accusations of Che.ating
However, Trump has faced repeated allegations of cheating during his golf games. Public figures like actor Samuel L. Jackson and boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya have accused him of bending the rules to gain an advantage on the course.
One of the most infamous incidents occurred in 2023 when Trump declared himself the winner of a golf tournament, even though he missed half of it because he attended a funeral 600 miles away. He reportedly insisted that his earlier practice round score should count as his first-round score in the competition.
Rick Reilly’s Revelations on Trump’s Golf Conduct
Rick Reilly, a former Sports Illustrated columnist, has documented several stories about Trump’s controversial golfing habits. Reilly authored a book titled Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump, which compiles various accounts from people who have witnessed Trump’s behavior while playing golf.
Having personally played against Trump on multiple occasions, Reilly claims that the former president “has to win” and will “do anything to cheat” to secure victory. Reilly also said that around 90% of the people he interviewed agreed that Trump “openly cheats” without showing any shame.
The Caddy’s Sh0cking Allegation
One of the most eye-opening stories from Reilly’s book involves Trump’s caddy revealing the ex-president’s alleged antics during a game. On this particular occasion, Trump hosted prominent American football personalities Mike Tirico, Jon Gruden, and Ron Jaworski for a round of golf.
During the game, Mike Tirico hit an exceptional shot on a par 5 hole — so impressive that his caddy celebrated with him, exclaiming, “Oh my god!” and giving him a high five.
However, when they approached the green, Tirico was shocked to find his ball had mysteriously ended up in a bunker about 50 feet away from the hole — an odd placement considering the quality of his shot.
Caddy Claims Trump Threw Tirico’s Ball into the Bunker
Trump casually brushed it off as a “lousy break.” But later, Tirico’s caddy quietly approached him and disclosed what really happened. According to the caddy, Trump’s actions were deliberate — he had allegedly picked up Tirico’s ball, which was only 10 feet from the hole, and thrown it into the bunker.
The caddy reportedly told Tirico: “You know that shot you hit on the par 5? It was about 10 feet from the hole. Trump threw it into the bunker. I watched him do it.”
Despite realizing he had been wronged, Tirico didn’t confront Trump about the incident. Instead, he simply accepted the outcome and paid up without protest.
