During the wedding, the bride suddenly whispered that something was moving under her dress: we carefully lifted the heavy dress and saw something scary there
During the wedding ceremony, all the guests were having fun: dancing, laughter, the clinking of glasses and joyful cries filled the hall. It seemed like the day was perfect – the very moment that you dream of your whole life. I held the bride’s hand, we sat next to each other and watched the guests dance.
And suddenly, in the midst of all this fun, the bride unexpectedly leaned towards me and quietly whispered:
– Something is moving under my dress.
I didn’t even immediately understand what she said. I looked at her and laughed, deciding that this was another joke of hers to relieve the tension a little.
– What exactly, darling? Your legs? – I joked and even laughed loudly, attracting the attention of my neighbors at the table.
But the laughter quickly disappeared from my face. The bride looked at me so seriously, with such an anxious look, that I felt uneasy.
“I’m not joking. There’s something there, and I’m really scared,” she said quietly and squeezed my hand lightly.
I tried to calm her down:
“Maybe you’re tired. Maybe it’s just my imagination…”
“No,” she interrupted me. “I definitely feel it. There’s something there. And it’s moving.”
I froze, not knowing how to react. But at that moment I realized that I had to check. I carefully helped lift the heavy, multi-layered dress, and what we saw there really shocked us.
Right under the layer of fabric, among the tulle and lace, a small snake was wriggling. It clearly wasn’t going to attack — most likely, it got inside by accident, maybe with the flowers or while the dress was being prepared for the ceremony.
The bride screamed and jerked back, but I managed to hold her so that she wouldn’t fall. The guests noticed the commotion, and several people ran closer.
At that moment, the snake, as if realizing that it had been noticed, quickly crawled out and, wriggling along the floor, moved straight to the door of the hall.
The music died down, the laughter stopped, everyone watched with surprise and fear as the little guest “left” the wedding.
Luckily, there was a person among those present who understood snakes. He calmed everyone down and explained that it was a harmless, small snake that had accidentally ended up there and posed no threat.
But this didn’t make it any easier for the bride — she spent another hour coming to her senses, trembling and refusing to continue the celebration. In the end, she decided to change: she took off her wedding dress and put on comfortable trousers.
From that day on, my wife developed a new habit: checking every corner and always being wary of long skirts.
