Garth Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, shined during a recent visit at the ACM Honors in Nashville, stealing the show and sparking a heated internet controversy.
The 59-year-old country music diva looked lovely in a sophisticated black floral gown, eliciting both accolades and criticism from her admirers.
Following the renowned event, Yearwood posted a photo of the amazing night on Instagram. One of the photos showed her standing next to her spouse, while another focused on her edgy costume, which included black fishnet tights.
The final photograph in her Instagram post showed the pair socializing with fans, taking photos, and showing love to their devoted followers who have stood with them for years.
Yearwood remarked on the occasion, writing: “Last night was epic! 🥰 All I ever wanted was to be a part of the country music scene. I’m honored, appreciative, and overjoyed that I got to celebrate with my friends and family! Congratulations to all of the winners!”
Her followers rushed to the comments section to praise the duo, with one fan writing: “Y’all are aging in reverse!”
Another added: “Wow, you look stunning! And your dress is 🔥.”
“Love Trisha’s dress and fishnet stockings. Congratulations,” a third chimed in.
However, the adulation was accompanied by a few criticisms. Some speculated that Yearwood had cosmetic modifications, writing: “Trisha has fallen into the facelift category, she doesn’t look like herself anymore,” and “That does not even look like her.”
Yearwood was honored at the iconic Ryman Auditorium, so the evening was more than simply a fashion statement. The Academy of Country Music honored her with the coveted Icon Award, cementing her presence in the music. Garth Brooks, ever the proud husband, exclaimed with delight as his wife was recognized.
Brooks expressed his appreciation for Yearwood, adding, “I was just so proud.” I’m always proud of her, but seeing and hearing her honored in that way – and hearing the term ‘icon’ used in the same breath as her name – really carried me somewhere new,” according to his website.
Brooks went on to say that seeing others acknowledge Yearwood’s magnificence just confirmed what he had always believed: she is a world-class musician with exceptional vocal skill.
In addition to her Icon Award, Yearwood has received the June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award and been inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. She even received the Country Radio Broadcasters’ Artist Achievement Award!
“A true icon is someone who creates history…”And I began thinking about all these times when she’s had that ‘iconic’ type of influence – and they all pile up,” Brooks remarked, adding it’s evident that Yearwood has.
