If Men Have This Facial Feature, They Are More Likely To ¢нєαт

If a man has more ‘masculine’ facial features, he may be more likely to cheat on his partner, according to a ɴᴇᴡ sᴛᴜᴅʏ.

People found that men with features such as a strong jaw and thinner lips were more likely to stray from their partners, and even steal them from other men.

In the sᴛᴜᴅʏ, men and women were asked to look at photographs of men and rate on a scale of 1 to 10 how likely they were to cheat.

The photographed men were also asked to rate their own ‘poaching’ behaviors – how much they stole other people’s partners.

Thus, the men with the ‘masculine’ characteristics admitted that they were more likely to cheat, and the people who saw pictures of them also thought they would be more inclined to be unfaithful.

Facial structure may be a sign of hormonal exposure during key periods of development, such as while the person was a fetus. They cited some previous studies that suggested that exposure to more androgens (sex hormones like testosterone) can lead to more aggressive and dominant attitudes and behaviors, as well as more “masculine” characteristics, such as prominent cheekbones.

In other words, the hypothesis is that a broader face may be a sign that someone has had more exposure to androgens, and more exposure to androgens may give that person a greater sex drive and make them more likely to cheat.

So, despite the findings, it would be unwise to judge a book by its jawline – but there is some truth to the way we make judgments of trustworthiness from the faces of others.

But this theory seems to work only when it comes to male features.
