1. “I have to work late tonight.”
He might be working late. Or he might not. However, you have to consider it really fishy for him to be working multiple late nights in consecutive weeks.
2. “I have to go on a business trip this weekend.”
This is a common tactic that a lot of guys use to get away from their women for more than a span of 2 days. He says that he has a business trip that he needs to attend to. But the truth is that he just wants some alone time with his side chick.
3. “I’m going to go out with the guys.”
This is a common tactic that a lot of guys use to make their women feel unwelcome to their escapades. A “night out with the boys” means that he has to go out and you’re not invited. So, you don’t get a chance to keep your eye on him.
4. “I have an office thing I have to go to.”
This is another way he can make sure that you don’t feel welcome to wherever he is going. He claims that he has an office function to attend to. And since you’re not part of the office, you’re not invited to wherever he might be sneaking off to.
5. “I need to go to the gym.”
