Meghan Markle gets open as she goes makeup-free for her podcast interview.
“She and I decided to do the episode the same way we spend most of our time together, with no makeup on, in our sweats, and cozied up in these two rocking chairs I have at my house,” Jamie Kern Lima teased on Instagram while anticipating the Monday release.
At the start of the episode, Lima confessed, “I have not done an episode without makeup since my thousand QVC shows.”
Meghan laughed, replying, “Do you think I have?”
But underlying the easygoing environment lay a highly emotional scene. Meghan, 43, shared a poignant custom she began for her two children, Archie and Lilibet. She sends them emails every night, tracking their adorable quirks and milestones.
“At one point in their life — maybe when they’re 16 or when they’re 18 — I’ll say ‘Here’s an email that I’ve been keeping for you. For your whole life, here’s everything and every moment that I wanted to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you,’” she shared, voice cracking with emotion.
“Of all things, that’s making me emotional,” she said through tears. “This is why it’s so nice to not have makeup on!”
Adding to the warmth of the moment, Meghan paid subtle tribute to her children with her outfit.
She donned a personalized sweatshirt with “Archie” and “Lilibet” sewn across the collar, along with matching trousers and white sneakers.
Her hair flowed in loose waves, and her natural freckles shone in the warm light.
