The bridges between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals remain burnt down, and no one knows for certain whether they will be rebuilt in the near future.
Following King Charles’ and Kate Middleton’s canc*r diagnoses, both Harry and Meghan reached out to them and offered their support and well-wishes, but this was not interpreted as an olive branch, thus their relationship has not changed and remains strained.
When Prince Harry visited Britain to meet with his father after learning of his canc*r, he caused a commotion and enraged many, including Camilla, who saw his visit as more of a public relations ploy than a real act of kindness toward his father.
Harry returned to London for the Invictus Games last week, but he and his father did not meet because of the King’s hectic schedule.
Harry’s spokeswoman stated that the Prince “hopes to see him soon.”
However, despite the fact that Harry and his family have not gotten along since he and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties, the Sussexes are popular in the United States and live their lives to the fullest with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, who were given the titles of Prince and Princess shortly after Queen Elizabeth passed away.
Despite their retirement from royal duties, money opportunities continued to come their way. In September 2020, they struck a lucrative five-year, $100 million production contract with Netflix, as well as a four-book deal with their publisher, which supposedly included a whopping $20 million advance and global royalties for Harry’s book Spare at possibly more than $120 million. They also landed a $20 million deal with Spotify, which is considered to be worth $35 million by industry analysts.
The Invictus Games, launched by Prince Harry for veterans all across the world, are a wonderful endeavor, but it’s hard not to wonder if it could be an even larger media success.
Harry and Meghan are beloved figures in America, and they appear to be embraced in other nations as well. The two recently visited Nigeria, where they were treated like royalty.
Meghan opened up about the findings of a DNA test she had conducted, revealing that she was 43 percent Nigerian, making the journey to the country more personal.
Harry and Meghan greeted the throng with beaming smiles, took photos, and enjoyed all the fun aspects of monarchy without having to answer to the Firm. Meanwhile, their visit drew unwanted attention to Buckingham Palace, and the Sussexes were able to change the narrative in their favor without having to confront any royal issues.
According to royal analyst Tom Quinn, Kate and William were unhappy about the Sussexes’ trip since it appeared to be a royal engagement.
“Everything you might expect from an official royal visit was there – the receptions, the visits to schools and charities, to wounded soldiers and the disabled,” he told reporters.
For Meghan, this trip was also a way to restore her image while acting as a ‘non-royal’ princess.
While Kate faces her own issues, Meghan is preparing to launch her lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard. She and Harry’s recent trip to Nigeria represents a promising new beginning for them, and some perceive it as Meghan’s “cold” revenge on Kate and the rest of the royal family.
This does not, however, imply that Meghan and Harry do not want Kate to heal as fast as possible, just like the rest of us.
