Royal family fans are assumed that Donald Trump made a subtle dig at Prince Harry during the regal state banquet at Windsor Castle last night (Wednesday 17 September).
The American president, 79, and First Lady Melania Trump, 55, are in the UK amid their two-day long state visit, which they’re spending mostly with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have also been appearing for the ongoing festivities, including last night’s white tie event.
During the dinner, Trump, who was seated next to the princess, had the chance to show up the 160 guests in St George’s Hall with a speech.
He started by praising America’s ‘special’ relationship with the UK, as he told the attendees: “Seen from American eyes, the word special does not begin to do it justice.
“We’re attended by history and faith, by love and language and by transcendent ties of culture, tradition, ancestry and destiny. We’re like two notes in one chord or two verses of the same poem, each beautiful on its own, but really meant to be played together.
“The bond of kinship and identity between America and the United Kingdom is priceless and eternal.”
And the praise continued, as the world leader shared that his second state visit to the UK is ‘one of the highest honours’ of his life, adding that he has ‘such respect for the country’.
He then continued to throw some compliments in the Prince of Wales’ direction, also applauding the King for the way he ‘raised him’.
Trump told the guests: “His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing.
“We’ve gotten to know you and I think you’re going to have an unbelievable success in future.”
However, some royal fans have found a dig at Prince Harry as he left the Duke of Sussex out from his speech entirely.
And people think the King isn’t too happy about it, as his smile shows to drop when the president said the comment in question.
Instagram users commented: “The King was uncomfortable there” and “The King’s poker face is wavering.”
While a third noted: “What about Harry?” and a fourth penned: “I don’t think Charles looks very impressed. His smile drops.”
And another said: “Do your homework trump!! FML the king has 2 sons!!”
Trump also had some words for Kate, who declared at the start of the year that she was in remission from can:cer.
In his banquet speech,Trump described her as ‘so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful’.
He commented: “Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, and so beautiful. It’s really a great honour, thank you.”
