She Is Not the Perfectest Mom But She Can Do Perfect All Things To Her Children
One Brazilian mom is making sure her 13-month-old son Enzo — who was born with a ʟᴀʀɢᴇ ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ on his face — knows that she’s his number one supporter.
Enzo was born via ᴄ-sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ March 2017 after it was ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟᴇᴅ ʜɪs ᴜᴍʙɪʟɪᴄᴀʟ ᴄᴏʀᴅ ᴡᴀs ᴡʀᴀᴘᴘᴇᴅ around his ɴᴇᴄᴋ ᴛᴡɪᴄᴇ, his mom Carolina Giraldelli, 26, of Cáceres, Brazil, told SWNS. Sᴜʀɢᴇʀʏ later revealed that Enzo’s ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ was ᴀ ʜᴀʀᴍʟᴇss Cᴏɴɢᴇɴɪᴛᴀʟ Mᴇʟᴀɴᴏᴄʏᴛɪᴄ Nᴇᴠᴜs, ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ᴄᴀɴ Fᴏʀᴍ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏᴍʙ early in development, according to the Association for Large Nevi and Rᴇʟᴀᴛᴇᴅ Dɪsᴏʀᴅᴇʀs.
The moment sparked something for Giraldelli, who told SWNS she saw the ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ and decided “from then on I should become another person who was much sᴛʀᴏɴɢᴇʀ, Fᴇᴀʀʟᴇss, ʙʀᴀᴠᴇ, ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ᴛᴏ Fᴀᴄᴇ ᴀʟʟ ᴛʜᴇ ᴏʙsᴛᴀᴄʟᴇs that would now be presented to my son.”
Recently, Giraldelli had a makeup artist paint a ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ on her face that was nearly identical to the baby boy’s, according to SWNS. Then, the mom turned the camera on to capture the moment her son saw her.
“I ᴄᴏɴFᴇss that for some time it was very difficult to see and feel the eyes of society flickering my son with looks of ᴘɪᴛʏ, ᴄᴏɴᴛᴇᴍᴘᴛ, sᴄᴀʀᴇ [Fᴇᴀʀ] ᴀɴᴅ sᴏᴍᴇᴛɪᴍᴇs ᴅɪsɢᴜsᴛ,” Giradelli told SWNS.
And although it’s not easy, she added “if someone Fᴇᴇʟs ʀᴇᴠᴜʟsɪᴏɴ, ᴄᴜʀɪᴏsɪᴛʏ ᴏʀ Fᴇᴀʀ, ᴡᴇ ᴛʀʏ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ʜɪᴍ ᴜɴᴅᴇʀsᴛᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʜᴇ, ᴅᴇsᴘɪᴛᴇ ʜɪs ᴍᴀʀᴋ, ɪs ᴀ ɴᴏʀᴍᴀʟ ʙᴏʏ ᴡʜᴏ ɪs ᴍᴜᴄʜ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ, just like others.”
Giraldelli greeted her son, whose face immediately lit up with a smile. And while she told SWNS “he did not completely understand it,” the little boy still showed her “complete joy.”
“I’m sure he loved my attitude. We took lots of pictures and our morning was a lot of fun,” she told SWNS. “After the photos I went to work with the makeup on.”
Although Giraldelli took the makeup off before she went to bed, she told the outlet, “How I felt has stayed with me ever since.”
Precisely because Carolina and her husband want to make little Enzo feel like a child who is always accepted by others exactly for what he is and who has absolutely nothing different or less, one day they decided to make a ᴛʀᴜʟʏ sᴜʀᴘʀɪsɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ sʏᴍʙᴏʟɪᴄ ɢᴇsᴛᴜʀᴇ. Mamma Carolina turned to a professional make-up artist and got a ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ that covered part of her forehead and nose, just like the one with which her son Enzo was born.\
The woman said that when she went to work everyone looked at her in a very sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇ ᴡᴀʏ ᴡʜᴇɴ sʜᴇ ʜᴀᴅ ᴛʜᴇ ʀᴇᴘʟɪᴄᴀ ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ on her face, which was so similar to little Enzo’s; but Carolina didn’t care at all that other people looked at her suspiciously, curiously or even with fear; she knew perfectly well that there was absolutely nothing wrong with being born with a ʙɪʀᴛʜᴍᴀʀᴋ like Enzo’s, and that wearing this makeup on her face was one of the most courageous and supportive gestures that mother Carolina could make to make her son Enzo feel accepted by the rest of the world.
There is nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her child, and certainly the story of Carolina Giraldelli and her cute little Enzo only reminds us of this once again!
