That’s Not What They Taught… But You Wouldn’t Believe It Anyway
Little Johnny’s mother was not sure her son was paying attention in Sunday School.
When they got home, she asked him, “What did you learn today.”
He said they got taught the ‘Joanna & the Whale’ story. Upon her additional prodding, he recounted the following…..
“Joanna lived in Miami. One day she went deep sea fishing in the Bermuda Triangle, and it got really stormy. The charter boat captain freaked out and pitched her off the boat, because her line was tangled on a really too big fish.”
At his juncture, mom put her hands on her hips, gave Johnny ‘the look’, and said, “Go on.”
“She didn’t hook a fish at all. It was really a CIA Submarine. The captain took her to Cuba and told her to tell Castro to be good or Uncle Sam would drone him. Castor agreed and everybody lived happily after.”
Totally chagrinned, mom dropped the hammer, “Is that REALLY the story you were taught?”
Johnny cast is gaze to the floor, shuffle his feet and finally came clean, “Not xacitly, but if I told you the preachers story, You Wouldn’t Believe It !!!”
