Ants despise strong smells, particularly the scent of cinnamon. To deter them, coat cotton balls with cinnamon powder or cinnamon essential oil, then place them along window sills, near door frames, and any other areas where ants may be entering.
1.Seal cracks
Ants gain entry into our homes through cracks and crevices leading from the outside. Use caulk to seal any cracks or holes around your home where ants might be getting in.
2.Kill fleas with salt
Fleas often hide in carpets. Sprinkle an abundant amount of table salt on the carpet, and after a day or two, vacuum it up. The salt helps dry out and kill the fleas.
3.Do some spring cleaning
To eliminate fleas thoroughly, spend a few days washing all fabrics in your home, including furniture, linens, carpets, and curtains. This will help kill any existing fleas and their eggs.
5.Prevent pets
Since fleas commonly enter homes through pets, follow your vet’s advice on flea medication for your pets. You can also use the right pet shampoo to promptly address any flea issues.
6.Fruit fly trap
Fruit flies enter homes through open doors, windows, and drains. Trap and eliminate them by mixing apple cider vinegar with a few drops of liquid dish soap in a bowl or jar. Cover the top with plastic wrap and make holes in it. Fruit flies will enter the jar but won’t be able to escape.
Citronella
To repel pests from outdoor spaces, spray a solution of water and a few drops of citronella essential oil on patio furniture and surfaces. Alternatively, citronella candles can be used, though they may not be as effective as the oil.
